i. Brunch

The Bloody Mary

Brunch, with a kick.

Time
3 min
Method
Stirred
Glass
Pint glass, over ice

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz Texas Two Step Vodka
  • 8 oz chilled tomato juice
  • ¼ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ¾ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ tsp Tabasco sauce
  • ice, for mixing

The Pour

  1. 1

Salt a chilled pint glass with chili spice. Fill with ice.

  2. 2

Pour the vodka, tomato juice, lemon, Worcestershire, and Tabasco right in.

  3. 3

Stir gently — a Bloody Mary wants to be persuaded, not rattled.

  4. 4

Spear the garnish. All of it. Don't be shy.

Garnish

Lemon wedge, cherry tomatoes, olives, celery sticks, petite dills, shrimp, chili spice & salt.

Pro tip Make it a skewer, not a snack. Pickles are non-negotiable.

Sex on the Beach cocktail, garnished and ready to pour

Sex on the Beach — no. ii

ii. Fruity

Sex on the Beach

Sunset in a highball.

Time
2 min
Method
Stirred
Glass
Highball, packed with ice

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz Texas Two Step Vodka
  • ¾ oz peach schnapps
  • 1½ oz fresh orange juice
  • 1½ oz cranberry juice cocktail
  • ice, for mixing

The Pour

  1. 1

Fill a highball with ice — the good kind, crystal clear.

  2. 2

Build the pour: vodka, schnapps, OJ, cranberry. In that order.

  3. 3

Give it one long lazy stir. Watch the sunset streak through.

  4. 4

Perch the orange on the rim; drop in two cherries for luck.

Garnish

Orange wedge and maraschino cherries.

Pro tip Chill the juices in advance. A warm cranberry is a sad cranberry.

Sea Breeze cocktail, garnished and ready to pour

Time
2 min

  • 4 oz cranberry juice cocktail
  • ice, for mixing

The Pour

  1. 1

Fill a highball glass with ice. All the way.

  2. 2

Add the vodka, then the grapefruit, then the cranberry.

  3. 3

Stir — just enough to marry the juices.

  4. 4

Squeeze the grapefruit wedge over the top and ride it in.

Garnish

Grapefruit wedge, cut thick.

Pro tip Fresh grapefruit, every time. The bottled stuff is a crime.

Chill a coupe in the freezer. Ten minutes at least.

  2. 2

Combine everything in a shaker over ice. Seal it. Mean it.

  3. 3

Shake hard for ten seconds — you want it cold and bright.

  4. 4

Double-strain into the coupe. Twist a lemon peel over the surface.

Garnish

Lemon twist, orange slice, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, blueberries.

Pro tip Shake until the tin frosts over. Anything less is a suggestion.

  3. 3

Shake until your hands go cold — 10–12 seconds.

  4. 4

Strain into the sugared glass. Twist. Drop an olive in for mystery.
